RED VELVET CUPCAKES

Red velvet cake/cupcake is one of my personal favorites and most popular desserts that stands unique amongst others, as it is moist and has the slightest tangy taste from the buttermilk and vinegar, which blends with the creamy sweet frosting. The key to baking is not only passion, but also accurate measurements. Follow the same metrics for best results.




Cooking time:30 mins Serves:6 nos

What you need Qty

1.Dry ingredients

All purpose flour/Maida 1cup

Cocoa powder 2 tbsp

Granulated sugar 1/2cup

Baking powder 1/2 tsp

Baking soda 1/4 tsp

Red food colour 1 tbsp


2.Wet ingredients

Buttermilk 3/4cup

Apple cider vinegar 2 tbsp

Softened butter 1 tbsp

Vegetable oil 1 tbsp

Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp


3.For the frosting/

icing

Icing sugar 1cup

Softened butter 1/2cup

Vanilla essence 1 tsp

HOW TO PREPARE


1.If you cannot find icing sugar, you can make one at home by combining 1 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of Corn flour in a blender to make a smooth powder and store it in an airtight container for better shelf life


2.To make cream cheese frosting, follow the final icing step in the above recipe and add 1/2 cup of cream cheese to the same

3.To avoid synthetic food colour, you can add pureed and strained beetroot juice, but the colour might vary
