KARNATAKA STYLE CHOW CHOW BATH/KHARA BATH/KESARI BATH

One of the quickest and a staple breakfast of Karnataka. It is a brilliant combination of Khara bath meaning Spicy Upma and Kesari bath(sweet made out of sooji). It can be served with a coconut chutney, sambar or on its own as it is packed with flavors.




Cooking time:30-40 mins Serves: 2

What you need

Khara bath


Sooji/Rava 1cup

Chopped vegetables

(Onion,tomato,capsicum

peas) 1cup

Tumeric powder 1/4tsp

Kashmiri chilly

powder 1tbsp

Chilly powder 1tsp

Asafoetida Apinch

Mustard seeds 1/4tsp

Jeera 1/4tsp

Urad dhall 1/4tsp

Cashew 3-4nos

Curry leaves Alittle

Ghee 2tbsp

Salt Totaste

Water Asneeded


Kesari bath


Sooji/Rava 1cup

Milk 1/2cup

Sugar 1cup

Cardamom powder Apinch

Fried cashews

and raisins Few

Ghee 2tbsp

Food color/saffron

(optional) Apinch
